guerilla
ihaveblog

Juse of ihavepop presents "One month and 17 days of documenting work, projects, art, shows, parties, travel, people". Go peep thru them geniuses' eyes

Undercover - Isetan Japan

A guerilla release by Undercover in Isetan Japan throws up these 2 gems, teddy & burger! Damn, i really kick myself for missing out on the UC x Vans buddahbuger joints years ago

Venue V-box

Yet another guerilla store pops up (how many can these guys think of?). This time, it is VBOX by local boutique Venue, distributor of Puma's limited edition line of footwear and apparel from Ralf Simons, Alexander McQueen (sick), 96hours, nuala (sweet but ex), S+arck (its cheaper on ebay) and Rudolf Dassler (so-so). Currently located outside the Heeren shopping mall and offering 30-50% off on all items in that little air-conditioned container - ie: not much stuff, but its worth having a look anyways. I'd recommend going for the high-end stuff at Venue Berlin store at Palais.

Slippity slide

My bud Jon fills me in on the w)taps slip on...siiick stuff: cross-bones-pentagrams. If you've done your homework, you'll know they cost a bomb in nippon. Why? Coz they've got the reverse design instead: pentagrams and cross-bones reversed! Best to pick up the state-side release for a trade across the Pacific.
Equally cool are the Polo Ralph slip-ons. Not as evil for sure, but cool contrast to the taps eh? hahaha

Listening
Hmm, seems like i'm listening to what the rest are too. Can't resist the urge to be ahead of the mass-release:

Justin's sophomore album Futuresex/Lovesounds has truly sick beats via Timbaland. Booming basses, tuning phases... great combi's. Lots of collaborative efforts through out to keep everyone happy. Consistently excellent on the tracks!

Nelly Furtado Loose is a pretty odd choice coming from me, but again, Timbaland draws me in on the track Promiscuous. Maneater is simply evocative of MJ, really thub-thumping stuff. Throw it in the iPod for an excellent mix!

Beyonce's B'Day, yet another pre-release due in a couple more days. Drew in by, you guessed it, great production once again. By now, Deja Vu should be all over the radio waves, and theres lots more radio-friendly tunes to last a couple of awards y'all.

NB super team 33

Remember these pics of the very uncharacteristic NB "super-team 33" kicks? Well, true-believers, they'll be dropping on our shores pretty soon at the Vault.
Yep, in the meantime, go cop them Jacket series already!!!
*******
Supreme

Managed to get them at a steal, loving the fit esp the long bill. And how's that for an "athelete's foot" bite? image hosted by ImageVenue.com

grapevine
Hmm, could the signs and rumors be true? Concurrent "moving out" sales at Ambush and Surrender lasting till the weekend. Could it be a re-branding ploy, or an eventually move to be far from the madding crowd? If so, whereforth?!?!
~*~
So you've probably know about the release of the iDiom:gray-scale series at Grandism.
Its all gravy, man...can't go against the dope stuff from some of the best in the biz. Pre-order is the key.

But wait, i have seen what i believe to be the light...and its calling out to me and my paycheck:
SUBNET-MASK! SUBNET-MASK!

get your acr on and be very afraid

childhood
I can't believe how much net surfin' i did yesterday. Probably equivalent to a week's worth, haha!
I think "childhood" sort of connects the following links...
I've got a sweet tooth, so this one definitely tops my list:
papabubble
Lovely little concoction between Spanish sugar-maker Papabubble and Comme de Garcons Parfums. Sweet!

new Megatron
Transformers were an integral part of my love for toys...sadly, i think i lost a part of that childhood today when i saw what they had done in the re-design for villian Megatron:

news via megatron has a-hole mouth by "I Watch Stuff".

Vans launch ad

Absolutely love this ad for Vans. Skateboarder is printed on pop-up transparency material. Truly brings out the "Off the wall" element of the label.
*edit: unfortunately i forgot where i copped the photo, apologies to the ad-makers

And if you haven't been checking RTHQ, then you must be hoodwinked by all the hype-wool. Go see what's on his Radar.

Nik, found this pic on the interweb, bet you wished it was yours eh? lol

more stussy
In the jumble and mass blanket of hype, we sometimes neglect some of the good stuff out there. Loving these prints in the Stussy "Arts" line:

From the US city-exclusives, NY, LA, SF.

And while the Custom-made line may have fallen behind somewhat, these couple of retro-revisits prove that old is gold:

Loving the music reference, and you know that nobody does photo-prints like the guys at Stussy.

unkle

new release on 11Sept (uk) and 12Sept(us)

babes
Been having marathon sessions of watching "Ghost Whisperer". Not exactly the most captivating series on the tube, but i guess it helps to pass time. and definitely with the help of JLH, heh, she's lovely:

Check out this ad appearing in local print media and causing quite a stir among the largely conservative community. Features the media darling and reigning "queen" of local tv, in an ad for beauty and skincare brand Imedeen.

"my secret to beautiful skin? i swallow" - alluding more to the fact that the skincare product is for internal use instead of the usual external application.
Attention grabbing for sure, but i bet its only par for course compared to ads in the States and Europe.

damn, this girl is hot on the links the past month eh? Great form *wink*

word of the day: cornucopia
Don't ask me why, coz i have no idea. the word Cornucopiasimply popped into my head as i go thru the links before logging in to blog. Perhaps a link to my bloating weight? or my wallet-thinning purchases? mind's a blank

HF-whore

Yea yea, call me a HF-whore, but i can't resist the utili-key, not when everyone has one! Thank god it is actually something useful...(subconcious: yeah, as if you'd use it everyday, if not at all)
But truth be told, it's a well-thought-out tool. Now i just need the laser engraving machine to do those "2 tiny little lightning bolts in a circle" logo thingie. =P

sneakerplay

Big ups to Scott K for the friendly invite to Sneakerplay! I must be the most irritating newbie, but i simply couldn't log in on my Netscape and IE browsers for the past few weeks(!) Much thanks to Rob @ SP for (patiently) replying all the n00b emails (yes, i am very ashamed of myself, and i shall resolve to be more browser-savvy from now on). Its always nice to find all the regular "nicks" that i've been acustomed to from the years of forum posting and surfin'. Made me feel right at home! Its in beta-stage right now, look for the launch soon once the community reaches critical-mass! :)

gorilla forever

X-Large JP celebrates the label's 15th anniversary this year with a party at the Daikanyama store. In the meantime, check out the cute little nod to Charles Darwin(!)...amusing take with "origins of species" theme.

Always a skull-lover, i'm all in favor of this huge print. Definitely in XL-style!

Interesting take on the slip-on that i spotted. Very familiar to the MadfootxStussy slip on collab, no? In any case, the multi-colore is perfect! And seemingly in tune with the Paisley print on this season's Stussy hoodie, XL drops a nice range of paisley truckers. Not sure if truckers are still in, but hey, it's always a welcome to my wardrobe.

Spotted some nice photos of Dave Flores' contribution for the XL store in JP from the JP website. The man's a genius in colors and print.

keepin' it real
Here's a good companion to the above update on XLarge. How can i leave out Stussy?
I find it wierd that the label is using the theme "keepin it real". Perhaps staking a claim on being the OG player in the scene?

Simplicity is key for the "mil-spec" style military tee. "Mappin" tee shows the OG cities: NY-LA-LDN-TKO.

I didn't find the "dot-dot" New Era cap sppealing, but done in beanie style...me likey! Might be useful in the coming Fall months.

The "find & destroy" tee print seems to be similar to the StussyxGoodfoot print. An alternative perhaps?
Speaking of alternative, check out these 2 prints:

1st one is "alter", with stock logo and city prints inside out. 2-prints not to your liking? S'ok, go with the standard "cities" print instead. Gotta show love for giving choices hahaha.

creative jarheads
If Mr Lenny was still in the service, we'd probably see this. But i guess someone beat him to it. Done by some creative (and brave) Marines

Lovely vids from you-tube
I didn't exactly find this from surfing you-tube, but definitely worth more than a look. The dudes from Improv Everywhere took like a hundred peeps to Home Depot, slowed time down, froze it, and then left the place like nothing happened! Don't understand? Peep the vid

and read all about the escapade and more vids here! Can i request for these guys to come to my local mall? please?!?!

New Maria Sharapova ad for Nike tennis

Really funny vid, maybe cos of the "i'm so happy" tune. It cracked me up when i thought of the reference to Adam Sandler's Anger Management

thats all for now, laters!
