You guys gotta go get this man. Its the truest Pearl Jam album ever, any wonder why they've gone eponymous for the album title? A truly fresh start under J Records, its basic, its raw, and its already my fave of '06 (whoever knows me and my personal email knows i'm biased, so what)

graduation

Seriously, i didn't know what was a "graduation" tee till i knew about Bape tees. I always thought they meant what you wore to the ceremony with funny square hats called mortar boards. Nah, just kidding. It was only when i saw the pics of so-called Bape graduation tees, that i knew they were alluding to the color "gradation". Much like tie-dye, these tees take longer to produce compared to the run-of-the-mill screenprint tees, hence being part of the "made by general" label. I like the side-by-side comparison of the 2 apes, don't you?

Great stuff from HP this season. Peep the looks from honeyee.com

Went to catch "16 Blocks" yesterday, Bruce Willis still gots the chops! But the meaty role went to Mos Def, and boy, did he relish in the role. Mad respects to the man, not many can step over to the celuloid world and yet still have that much street cred and coolness. Speaking of coolness, check out the movie site: the 16 Blocks

Its been cranky weather to say the least. Swarmy hot 1 second and blistering rain the next. Took a chance with the denim sta's, which thankfully returned home dry. =)

Spotted this gem in the carpark at J8(!)... simply delicious

Press
Time really flies by, the new quarterly issue of streetwear today drops again. I dunno about the rest of you guys out there, but i'm an info geek, cos hey, who's ever heard of having too much knowledge?

You guys can check out the main stuffs in the issue by checking the hype blogs out there, but here are some stand-outs for me:

CW: Plan B x Obey decks as seen in "untitled" exhibit; a "new era" of headwear (pun fully intended); new store updates; Shut skateboard's revival (yay!)

CW: Gabriel Urist works his magic; a nice chat with Juse from ihavepop; a cool selection of footwear for guys, ie: good guys wear black. sweet surrender!

Wanna see more? go get a copy yerself, heh

Its pretty hard to pin down what i really like..i much basically listen to anything. Some old skool stuff like 2 Live Crew and Black Flag kinda rock those sleepy nites away, while Sergio Mendes' tunes are jivin'. LL's new shit is bumpin' up the charts as well, the single "control myself" with JLo is on constant replay on my iTunes. L mixes it up with some rips from his older records which the young 'uns don't know about, and that's cool enough for me.

Current heavy-rotation tune on my pc: FreeDiving(stereo MC's remix) by Ben Lee. the loop is too hypnotic to miss, been after the CD single ever since i heard it in the original LP. Now i can replay it all nite long, muahahahaha (*evil laugh)

Worn out, by still a nice T

Weather's been flip-flopping like crazy recently, check out these nice clouds on my way to work. I think those are cirronimbus? Sorry, its been ages since my last Geography class, heh heh

This and that

The Beatles tee is classic and almost iconic, much like the Rolling Stones "Tongue" imagery. It also spawned a whole range of similar designs of music origins. When done right, its a proclamation of iconography and a respective nod to the Fab Four...

Dipset and Wu Tang Clan manifest tees from Turntable Lab. Its not a direct link to the tees, i'd prefer you guys click thru' the treasure trove of stuffs at the Lab like i do *wink

And with the World Cup in Germany coming up real quick, how could you miss this?

Ultras tees available from the boyz at Drooghi.

Its highly rare to find Usugrow stuff, much less at such affordable prices, so go get them

shopping
Its almost a given that i'm online too much. I spend way too much time surfing around the web, and i spend way too much anyways. I'm probably an advertiser's dream, i try my best to notice all the details. Not that i'm great at doing it, but i just enjoy it somehow. Any-who, check these sites out, coz if you're reading this blog, it means you have some free time anyway. Maybe you'll find something lovely for yourself or the ladies in your life

Day-lab
Check out Day-Lab run by lovely Amy Shutt. Knick-knacks and a nice selection of apparel

"Squirrel" tee by Crowded Teeth would suit Tommy just fine; and those "booby" buttons? grab 'em while you can! (ha, pun intended!)

Crowded Teeth
I was intrigued by the selection of Crowded Teeth stuff on day-Lab, so i decided to check out what else they had. Set up by yet another lovely young lass by name of Michelle, Crowded Teeth does the tees and buttons very well, with good looks on the lady hoodies.

Absolutely hooked on the "apple" print on the hoodie, but the "birds" print seem a little familiar. Maybe too much like Abe Lincoln Jr? Then again, i could be nit-picking too much.

shop by Naive
Tommy's little baby of a shop grows up real quick. On the surface, it might seem like another independent shop selling indie labels, capitalising on prints, embroidery, sewing, accessorizing etc. That is definitely not the case. Carefully thought-out and pieced together, its an admirable set-up. You get the complete package as envisioned by the creator herself. Its ok if you don't agree with her style, but at least its intelligent and no run-of-the-mill stuff. Personally, i think its smashing.

Check her periodical "focus" updates on recommended mix/matches; and lovely accesories via Mosiac (that rope necklace is off the hook)

The shop's got a new update over the past few days

New arrivals include X-girl LAapparel. Loving the belt and mauve windbreaker!

the write stuff
I'm always on the look out for refreshing designs on stationery. I enjoy getting something which piques my interest even more deeply than what is written on the card/letter/note, and i'm sure its the same if i gift it to someone else.
Peep Shorthand Press for a host of gifts i wouldn't mind receiving:

"Dictionary" card to send to loved ones and that "Riffraff" tee is too irressistable.

On the same note...

Send regal "thank you" notes from Greenwich Letterpress, via Luxe Paperie
